Call for Northshore Regional Representative
Posted almost 11 years ago by Brent Thibodeaux
Call for Nominations for the 2014 LANP Board of Directors is open for the North Shore Region. The deadline is October 17, 2014. Nomination form click here.
I urge each of you to give deep consideration to participating in the leadership of LANP. Without you, our voices diminish. Without local representation, there will be no local educational dinner meetings and no voice on the Board from your region. Several Representatives have Co-Reps to share responsibilities. If interested, please call your local regional representative, they will be glad to answer any questions you may have. The current representatives are at the maximum limits for these regions and cannot continue in their roles.
There are many benefits in joining LANP's Board:
- Plan Educational Dinner Meetings with various reps (these reps contact you)
- Complimentary PCC registration (you are required to assist with the conference in many ways)
- Networking with wonderful peers/colleagues from across the state
- Ability to represent your region and provide input regarding your profession and how LANP can be of assistance to you/your area
- January Board Meeting to plan budget for the year, a couple of conference calls with other board members (depending on urgency of subject)
- Great opportunity to get legislative and professional issues early on and be a part of the planning process.
Board Requirements:
- Candidates must be an "active" or "retired" member in good standing
- The term of office is two years
- The Board of Directors meets at a minimum of 4 times a year.
- All Board Members are expected to take an active leadership role in LANP, which may include chairing a committee.
Since the Board of Directors is responsible for directing the activities and functions of LANP, Board Members are expected to attend as many LANP functions as possible. It is essential for Board members to be connected to the membership through attendance at regional meetings, activities, and functions of LANP.
